From My Box of Family Cards 1989

What a lovely Valentine Day this has been. I have been alone all day but that is not unusual. June, my daughter and I wished each other a happy day and played Scrabble via Facebook, it sure is fun and I enjoy playing very much. Usually I have three different games going, June and two friends. It’s great because I can leave the PC on and check back every now and then to see who has sat down for a moment or two and added in a word.

There were two very nice surprises for Valentine day, at the post office; I found a big box full of Lotus Biscoff Europe’s favorite cookies at the Post Office from my dear friends in California, along with a charming post card from a fellow Postcrossing member who lives in Budapest, Hungary.

Budapest has always seemed a romantic, exciting city, to me I suppose due to those great movies of the 40’s. I’ll have to educate myself on Budapest, should be fun. Gosh, you can go anywhere on the Internet, learn just about anything you desire. For sure, I enjoy myself on the Internet. I have learned more about the world in the last ten years then ever before. When your busy being a mom your busy enjoying your children watching them grow and learn, and well, you do sort of forget about yourself. Although you can learn many important things about yourself some good, some not so good, but that’s the point, you see where you need to grow in patience, love and how to be a better human being. Anyway, now the Internet gives me the opportunity to learn wonderful things and again some not so wonderful thing about the world, our country, things we need to know and it keeps our aging synapses popping. (I speak for myself, that is.) Tee Hee

I starting thinking about the three large boxed I have up in my hobby closet and all the cards from all the years of my marriage… digging in these boxes I found many very old Valentine cards along with every kind of card for every occasion we gave to each other as a family… what fun… what to do with them I don’t know, I can’t throw them away and the children don't want them. Funny how do you refer to your children when they are adults? I’m 73 and I suppose when I am 90 and my children are in there 60’s and 70’s I will still refer to them as my children. I remember seeing a local man in his mid 90’s ask, “Hey, have you seen my kids around?” He was looking for his two sons in their 70’s. That’s sweet.

Well as for the years of cards I do have a couple ideas of what can be done with them, yet I am still looking for more ideas. If anyone has an ideas or suggestions they would like to share please send it via the comment area or my e-mail address you will find at View My Complete Profile, to the left. That would be great.

Thank you for your visit...
